Importante lettera autografa del senatore Célestin Jonnart (e ambasciatore presso papa Benedetto XV), nella quale elogia il celebre politico e industriale Auguste Isaac, il quale potrebbe essere ostacolato nella sua missione in Siria dall'Inghilterra, che non lo considera personaggio gradito:
"... un des hommes qui, à mon avis, font le plus d'honneur à notre Pays, Auguste Isaac grand industriel de Lyon...
...il est très intelligent, mais...il va se heurter là-bas à des rancunes, à des haines que l'Angleterre ne laissera pas d'exploiter, qt qui ne lui permettront pas de remplir, en Syrie, avec une autorité suffisante, le mandat qui lui a été confié...".
