DESCRIZIONE: Curiosa lettera manoscritta, inviata dal patrizio Vettor Gradenigo a un non meglio identificato amico, che aveva percorso una brillante carriera militare, ironizzando sulla sua professione:
"... Conviene dunque ch'io mi scateni nuovamente contro i di Lei sentimenti, contro la mania dell'epica sua professione... Virgilio stesso se ne sdegnerebbe, Merlin Tocai ne piangerebbe... nella fiducia che l'ammonizione presente valga un purgar tutta la feccia ignominiosa che la inonda.... Il persecutore del falso eroismo...".
